Nokia N900 VS Samsung Omnia2: Make Way for Gladiators

Today the market is filled with smartphones that means the world to the owner as they are host to some innovative technologies. Nokia N900 and Samsung Omnia2 has been a revelation from the day they have launched. The technologies and the aura that they exude is beyond comparison with any other mobile in the market.

There are various mobile companies that have made their presence felt in the market. Amongst them, Nokia and Samsung are two of the great giants which is clearly ruling the roost in the mobile sector with their snazzy and smart mobiles that have got really mind boggling features as well. There phones are the result of constant innovation and research work done by them. These phones are blended with skills that can be clearly shown with the fineness of these products. That is why the phones from the house of both the manufacturers are in a great demand and their popularity is touching the skies.

Both the companies have a dedicated set of employees who work with utmost dexterity to attain that perfect blend of technological mileage and exquisite designs. They keep track and assimilate the recent developments that have happened in the mobile sector . then they try to inculcate technologies which are comparatively more advanced and sophisticated. They also conduct a lot of research and development and update themselves on regular basis to design more cost effective handsets. As both the mobile companies are best in their own rights, so a tough competition between each other is bound to happen. They are designing more efficient high end mobile phones on regular basis, stuffed with useful features and opening a wide range of gadgets in front of consumers. "N900" from Nokia and "Omnia2" from Samsung are the two handsets which must be compared to each other.

The major differences lies in the operating softwares. Nokia N900 has a Maemo 5 operating system based phone which makes it convenient and these phones provide GPS(Global Positioning System) facility to the user, to see the whole geographical location where one is located. Where as Samsung Omnia2 works on MS Windows mobile 6.1 professional OS, which is upgradeable to Windows Mobile 6.5. Both these phones offer instant messaging facility to the users enabling them to keep in touch with their near and dear ones through Emails, SMS and MMS.

To serve the purpose of picture capturing, Omnia2 and Nokia N900 both have Geo-tagging facility on their brilliant 5mega pixel cameras accompanied by features such as video at 30 frames per second (whereas latter one has a video recording at 25 frames per second), Nokia N900 camera is equipped with Carl Zeiss optical lens , auto focus, LED flash etc. Also both of them are identical on the front of sound feature with stereo speakers having 3.5mm jack but Samsung Omnia 2 has DNSe (Digital Natural Sound Engine) technology that boosts the sound of this phone. Omnia2 possesses a memory of 16GB along with a slot Micro SD card, while, N900 has an edge over it with a memory of 32GB which can be further expanded to 16GB y a micro SD card.

Both the phone are suitably equipped with data technologies with GPRS, EDGE 3G and bluetooth as well. Nokia N900 has an infrared port.. And finally lets compare their appearance and display. N900 is comparatively heavier than Omnia 2 as the former one weighs 181gms and latter one has 123 gms of weight. Samsung Omnia2 is designed with a 3.7inches Amoled resistive Touch screen, displaying approximately 65000colours. This screen is supported by features of Hand writing recognition and accelerometer sensor. Whereas, Nokia N900's fine and impeccable display will delight the user with its 3.5 inches broad sliding tilt TFT resistive screen having 16.7 million colours in it It also has same features of handwriting recognition and accelerometer sensor.

Whereas, Samsung Omnia2 is flooded with miscellaneous features such as photo/video editor, DivX/Xvid/MP4/WMV Player, Media Gate 3D, Pocket Office, Mobile Tracker etc. Nokia N900, on the contrary has a Skype and Google talk VOIP facility, digital compass, Flash Lite, Document viewer, TV-out, MP3/WMA/WAV/Real Video/MP4 Player facilities to delight user.

Both these phones are titans in their own way and the exuberance that they both have is just magical.
