HTC Touch Pro Review

At the heart of the HTC Touch Pro is essentially the HTC Touch Diamond with a slide-out five row QWERTY keyboard. The Touch Pro targets power user requiring a physical keyboard for easier text entry in case the virtual keyboard is too difficult to use.
The HTC Touch Pro (HTC Rafael) was rumoured to be announced in last months unveiling of the HTC Touch Diamond but HTC have waited until today to unleash their latest and greatest offering.
The Touch Pro features Windows Mobile 6.1, HSDPA (7.2mbps), 2.8″ VGA screen, 3.2 MP camera, 512MB flash and 288MB RAM, Wi-Fi, GPS, bluetooth and a slide out 5 row QWERTY keyboard. All of the specs are backed up with a 1350 mAh battery so battery life shouldn’t be too bad on this device. The Touch Pro also has similar styling and the updated touchflo interface introduced with the Diamond.
HTC is working hard to make their devices one hand, one touch capable allowing users to take advantage of their 3D touch interface called TouchFLO 3D. The TouchFLO interface allows users to surf through popular functions of the device such as messaging, calendar appointments and making calls. Thankfully for Windows Mobile we have great OEMs like HTC creating a better user experience than that of Microsoft, many devoted Windows Mobile MVPs, users and customers have been pushing Microsoft to fix simple issues with the Windows Mobile OS since 2000. Microsoft plans to re-invent the OS with Windows Mobile 7 and address many of the complaints.

5 Rows QWERTY Keyboard
In addition to the HTC TouchFLO 3D technology, the Touch Pro includes a new innovative touch-sensitive control for device interaction. Like the Touch Diamond, Touch Pro is crafted with precision to fit comfortably in a user's hand and brings together elegant touch screen response with the direct precision of HTC's trademark sliding keyboard design. Introducing a new five-row QWERTY keyboard layout that makes typing-intensive tasks like composing email or working on Microsoft Office documents quick and easy. Built-in TV-out functionality means users can deliver the perfect PowerPoint presentation from the HTC Touch Pro.
Mobile Internet Experience
With the introduction of HTC Touch Diamond and HTC Touch Pro, HTC delivers an entirely new mobile Internet experience that utilizes broadband-like speeds with HSDPA 7.2 Mbps and wireless connectivity. Committed to improving Web browsing, HTC provides a new customized mobile Web browser that enables easy viewing and effortless navigation of Websites in the way they are designed to be viewed on a PC. As part of this browsing experience users can zoom and pan Websites with one-hand and automatically view optimized content that has been specially created to fit the display. Turning the device sideways automatically rotates the web page view from a portrait to landscape view.

YouTube Videos
In addition to Web browsing, the Touch Pro includes an HTC-developed, YouTube application for watching a variety of user generated video content as well as including Google Maps for mobile for mapping and traffic data.
Camera Functionality
The HTC Touch Pro delivers an unrivalled combination of features and functionality. The 2.8 inch display provides near-print quality viewing that enables beautiful Web browsing and viewing of photographs. The built-in camera includes an optical auto-focus lens that ensures the photos you take will be clear and consistent. Advanced wireless and auto sensor screen pivoting are just a few of the features that make the HTC Touch Pro experience a stand out.
HTC Touch Pro will be available to customers across all major European, Asian and the Middle East markets in late summer. The North American and Latin American versions of Touch Pro will be available later in 2008.

HTC Touch Pro features HTC’s innovative TouchFLO 3D, a new touch-sensitive control for device interaction, broadband-like speeds with HSDPA 7.2 Mbps and HSUPA wireless connectivity. Unlike the Diamond, the Touch Pro sports a much larger battery capacity of 1350mAh allowing for up to 8 hours of talk time and a microSD memory card slot. Other features include 512MB flash, 288MB RAM, GPS capabilities, 2.8-inch VGA touch screen and 3.2-megapixel camera equipped with video calling.
