Nokia N79 Review
Nokia N79 is a new entertainment focussed candybar handset from Nokia that is also aimed for the style concious. It is very similar to the N85 in terms of specs and is the successor/replacement of the Nokia N78.
Nokia N79 marks the return of ‘Xpress-On’ like covers to change the look of the device as you wish (only the back panel of the device can be changed). These neat looking ’smart’ covers will have the ability to automatically change the theme of your device accordingly as well so that it match’s the casing (for further personalisation). Three ’smart’ covers will be available to choose from in every box - depending on which colour device you choose (there is either a white or grey N79) you will get 3 different colour back plates in the sales package!
Nokia N79 features a 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and a dual LED flash. It is also nice to see from the pictures that it will be protected by a sliding camera cover. The device also supports Geotagging.
Other multimedia features include the return of the FM transmitter (which both me and Tash are a big fan of) so it is great to see, a 3.5mm audio jack and dedicated music keys. There will be enough power from the BL-6F 1200 mAh battery for up to 24 hours of music playback. The N79 features a 2.4″ QVGA LCD display (240×320 pixels).
Nokia Maps 2.0 is also on board to make use of the built-in GPS receiver and there is a 4GB microSD card included in the sales package rather than having built in Mass Storage.

Nokia N79 should be available September 2008.
